As a young boy helping with family chores in a remote village, Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche felt a strong longing to become a Buddhist monk. Since running away to follow his grandfather on pilgrimage, his story has been a remarkable
journey from tending yaks to recognition as a reincarnation then studying and teaching as a Buddhist scholar.

A Determined Boy: The Story of Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche presents the story as told by Dolpo Tulku in his own words. He reflects on his fears and excitement, doubts and sense of responsibility on his role as the reincarnation of a spiritual leader of the people in the remote high valleys of Dolpo, in northern Nepal.

For this, he co-founded Dolpo Tulku Charitable Foundation to support health, education, and well-being projects. Funds for the Foundation come from donations and offerings from Rinpoche’s teaching Buddhism for students in Western and SE Asian countries.
