Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Heritage Centre
The Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Foundation has been working closely with Frances Klatzel and Mera Publications to curate and produce the exhibits.
The work was split into Phase One, preparations and exhibits for the Inauguration, and Phase Two, additional exhibit panels. Phase Three with audio-visual materials, a couple of experiential installations, and in-depth information is in progress.
- The project has several stakeholders interested in the success of the project including the Tenzing Norgay family, Sagarmatha Buffer Zone committee, National Park personnel, and the local Namche and Khumbu community.

The Tenzing Norgay family commissioned this statue in 2014 with the blessing and support of the local community.
Nearby is the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Centre, built in 1979-80. For years, it welcomed visitors from around the world to learn about Sherpa history, culture and Himalayan flora and fauna.
Sagarmatha National Park handed over management of the Park Visitor Center to the Namche Buffer Zone Committee but remains an interested stakeholder in site and the messaging of the Museum.
